Description
The Graphic Design program focuses on nurturing talent, building confidence, and developing design skills essential for success in the creative industries. The course boasts excellent facilities, award-winning students and alumni, and a strong emphasis on employability and cutting-edge professional skills. The teaching staff, with backgrounds in graphic design, branding, illustration, exhibition design, web/mobile interface design, and more, integrate industry insights directly into their teaching. Guest speakers further enrich the student experience, ensuring alignment with the needs of the dynamic graphic design industry. In Stage 3 of the program, students deepen their skills through in-depth projects that require advanced creative, technical, research, and presentation abilities.
They develop a professional approach to their work, define personal areas of interest, and explore critical theories of graphic design. Emphasis is placed on understanding the use of text and image in society to effectively communicate messages. Key learning outcomes at Stage 3 include: Continued development of skills in various subject areas. Advancement of technical and creative abilities. Exploration of graphic design history, theories, culture, and context. Engagement with professional practice and work experience. Critical evaluation and interpretation of concepts into graphic communication. Targeting specific audiences with design work. Learning real-world techniques used in graphic design. Developing a career-focused approach to studies that informs creative and professional direction.
Assessment is based on coursework, assignments, projects, presentations, classroom participation and engagement, practical applications, portfolios (where applicable), and other approved assessment methods.

Description
The Bachelor of Arts (Honours) Animation and Games Art program enables students to explore traditional animation techniques, digital skills in 2D and 3D production pipelines, and core principles of character-led animation within the dynamic animation, games, and VFX industries. In Stage 3, students refine their skills to develop a highly creative portfolio or show-reel for employment readiness. This stage emphasizes building a creative identity and understanding personal philosophy in Animation and Games Art. Students also work on projects with potential commercial or non-commercial outcomes, such as educational or charitable initiatives. Assessment is based on coursework, assignments, projects, presentations, classroom participation and engagement, practical applications, portfolios (where applicable), and other approved assessment methods.
Key activities in Stage 3 include:
- Participating in Animation and Games Art competitions and festivals. Undertaking small and large projects, potentially involving live commercial or non-commercial work.
- Producing a substantial written piece exploring an aspect of Animation and Games Art in depth.
- Creating a professional portfolio or show-reel that reflects engagement with industry, self-reflection, and critical analysis of industry requirements specific to the student’s specialization.
