Holding a wide-ranging educational pedigree with an extensive background in performing arts and educational management, Mr. Harris has a range of expertise and experience that he has brought to Capital College. His academic journey includes a B.A. from Murdoch University, undergraduate work at the University of Miami, graduate studies at Ohio University, and an M.F.A. in Acting from Florida Atlantic University. He has also trained with the late Mr. Arthur Lessac in the Lessac Kinesensic Body and Voice. He now holds candidature for a Doctor of Education.
Committed to fostering the next generation of Educational Leadership, Mr. Harris brings to the table at Capital College a diverse skill set that spans acting, education, directing, and fight choreography. His experience includes roles as an adjunct professor of Acting and Voice at several institutions, such as Florida Atlantic University, Central Piedmont College, Blue Lake Arts Academy (Michigan), and Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts. Notably, he served as the Program Leader at LASALLE College of the Arts and Subject Head Theatre at the School of the Arts Singapore (SOTA). At present, he contributes his expertise as the Chief Academic Officer at Capital College of the Arts, Management, and Technology, leading academic affairs and providing academic strategies.
Mr. Harris advocates passionately for equity, social justice, and accessibility, demonstrating a deep commitment to diversifying educational, training, and career opportunities. He displays a deep understanding of the unique challenges encountered by students from varied backgrounds.
As an accomplished artist and researcher, Mr. Harris has presented at various conferences and symposiums, directed productions for numerous festivals, and contributed to the Singapore Drama Educator Association. His artistic work spans from Santa Cruz (California), to Charlotte (North Carolina), to Miami (Florida), to Singapore. His previous research investigated the integration of traditional Asian practices within modern actor training. Currently, his research interest lies in Educational Management & Leadership, focusing on fostering innovation and creativity among future educational leaders.
