Capital College of the Arts, Management and Technology, in collaboration with the UK’s University of Sunderland, offers a Master of Arts in Education program. This program is tailored for professionals in the field of education, aiming to enhance subject knowledge, raise standards in schools, improve professional and institutional practice, and develop advanced research and study skills.
The MA Education program offers a blend of core and optional modules, allowing students to customize their learning experience according to their interests and career plans. The modules respond to governmental priorities and global developments in education, ensuring relevance and contemporary focus.

For distance learning students, feedback is provided via email, Canvas, or virtual tutorials.
Program Structure
The MA Education program is structured in stages, with each stage offering a selection of modules:
- Certificate Stage: Two 30-credit modules, including one core module (EPDM09: An Introduction to Criticality) and one optional module.
- Diploma Stage: Two additional modules, including another core module (EPDM95: Research Methods in Education) and a second optional module.
- Thesis: Completion of a small-scale research project within the registered subject area.
The program offers interim awards (Certificate and Diploma) and allows for credit transfer from previous studies for eligible students.
Specialist Routes
The program offers two main routes:
- Generic Route: Focuses on critical thinking and research methods, with optional modules tailored to the student’s interests.
- Early Years Teaching Route: Specialized modules for early years education, including critical analysis of early years curriculum and postgraduate certification in early years teaching.

Minimum Entry Requirements
- Minimum age: 21 years old
- Bachelor Degree with 60%, or equivalent; AND
- The student will need to submit a statement of purpose, as well as pass an aptitude test and an interview.
- Other qualifications which will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

STATEMENT OF PURPOSE (500–800 WORDS)
The student will need to describe their interest, involvement and experience in design and/or the visual arts. Design experience can include work done with arts organizations, galleries or events such as film, performance, festivals, exhibitions. These can also be events you attended or projects that you worked on.
APTITUDE TEST
The student will need to complete and pass a short skill test consisting of a creative task and multiple-choice questions.
INTERVIEW
The student will need to participate in a dialogue in relation to the submitted statement of purpose – What are your motivations for choosing this program? Share your interest, influence and aspiration. What do you hope to achieve in this programme? You should also share how this programme might prepare you for your future career path. If the student is unable to attend the interview on campus, an online interview will be arranged.
