The Advanced Diploma in Dance (Performance), is a one-year intensive course that will help you achieve your dream of becoming a versatile and talented dance artist with a successful career in the dance and creative industries.
Our course takes a holistic approach, fostering creative expression through a rigorous combination of technique training, collaborative projects, performance opportunities, and applied professional practices. You will take part in a range of classes including ballet, jazz, urban dance, classical repertoire, contemporary techniques, choreography, dance science, performance-making, music, fitness, and somatic practices. As our student, you will explore and apply a wide range of highly specialized technical, creative, and conceptual skills to express your ideas and perspectives required for your chosen dance style.
In addition to these classes, you will have the opportunity to work alongside an array of creative disciplines, including music, musical theater, visual arts, and design. Our safe and supportive environment will enable you to present your creative ideas to your peers and staff, fostering teamwork while simultaneously building your individual identity and profile.

Minimum Entry Requirements
- Minimum age: 18 years old
- Minimum of two ‘A’ Level subject passes (not including General Paper) or their equivalent; OR
- Diploma in Dance (Performance) awarded by Capital College of the Arts, Management and Technology (CCAMT); AND
- The student will need to submit a statement of purpose and pass an audition and interview.
- Other qualifications which will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

STATEMENT OF PURPOSE (500–800 WORDS)
The student will need to describe their interest, involvement and experience in dance performance and/or the performing arts more broadly. Performing experience can include work done with arts organizations or events such as film, performance, festivals, exhibitions. These can also be student projects that you worked on.
Audition
Students will need to prepare a 2–3-minute solo dance piece (any genre), showing their creative movement and style. You might respond to one the following themes as prompt:
- technology
- nature/ the environment
- popular culture
- elements (e.g. water, fire, earth, etc)
Students will be assessed on the following criteria:
- physical skills and facility
- range of movement qualities
- musicality
- spatial awareness
- presence
- response to task
- creative choices
Audition tapes to be submitted online for international students.
INTERVIEW
The student will need to participate in a dialogue in relation to the submitted statement of purpose and audition – What are your motivations for choosing this course? Share your interest, influence and aspiration. What do you hope to achieve in this programme? You should also share how this programme might prepare you for your future career path.
