This Advanced Diploma program provides comprehensive training in music pedagogy and teaching methodologies at FHEQ Level 5. Students engage with contemporary teaching methodologies, classroom management strategies, and professional practice through studio sessions, workshops, lectures, and teaching practicums. The program includes shared modules with Dance and Visual Arts Teaching programs, fostering interdisciplinary collaboration and broader understanding of performing arts education.
Assessment methods are aligned with module objectives, incorporating practical teaching demonstrations, portfolio development, written assignments, research projects, and performance work. The program emphasizes real-world application through hands-on teaching experience and industry engagement.

Minimum Entry Requirements
- CCAMT’s Diploma in Music Performance, OR
- Diploma in music or related field from a recognized institution, OR

- Minimum 1 year relevant work experience in music and 1 year teaching experience

Professional Requirements:
- ABRSM Grade 8 in Music Theory or equivalent
- Portfolio demonstrating musical and teaching capabilities
- Personal statement (500-800 words)

- Teaching demonstration and interview
- Music proficiency video (Vocal: 2-3 minutes, Instrumental: 4-5 minutes)

STATEMENT OF PURPOSE (500–800 WORDS)
The student will need to describe his/her interest, involvement and experience in the business or commerce related disciplines. Experience can include work done with arts organisations or events such as retail, administrative office, film, design, performance, festivals, exhibitions. These can also be events you attended or student projects that you worked on. Statement of purpose to be submitted online.
INTERVIEW
The student will need to participate in a written test and dialogue in relation to the submitted statement of purpose – What are your motivations for choosing this course? Share your interest, influence and aspiration. What do you hope to achieve in this programme? You should also share how this programme might prepare you for your future career path. If the student is unable to attend the interview on campus, an online interview will be arranged.
