The Certificate in Dance Foundation is a dynamic 6.25-month program designed to launch your journey in the world of dance and performing arts. Aligned with FHEQ Level 3, this course provides a comprehensive foundation for aspiring dancers, blending rigorous technical training with essential theoretical knowledge.
The curriculum is carefully structured to foster not only dance skills but also critical thinking, effective communication, and global awareness – essential qualities for the modern performing artist. Through a combination of practical workshops, lectures, and collaborative projects, you’ll develop a well-rounded skill set that prepares you for further study at the diploma level and beyond.
By the end of the program, you’ll have a solid foundation in dance technique, a growing choreographic portfolio, and the confidence to pursue your passion in the performing arts.

Minimum Entry Requirements
- Minimum age: 16 years old
- Minimum of two ‘N’ Level subject passes: ELMAB3 (English Language), Mathematics, Best 3 other subjects) aggregate score of 15 points or better, excluding CCA Bonus Points; OR
- Higher Nitec or their equivalent; AND
- Minimum academic qualification, or its equivalent;
- Pass an interview.
- Other qualifications which will be considered on a case-by case basis.

Statement Of Purpose (500–800 WORDS)
The student will need to describe his/her interest, involvement and experience in the business or commerce related disciplines. Experience can include work done with arts organisations or events such as retail, administrative office, film, design, performance, festivals, exhibitions. These can also be events you attended or student projects that you worked on. Statement of purpose to be submitted online.
Interview
The student will need to participate in a written test and dialogue in relation to the submitted statement of purpose – What are your motivations for choosing this course? Share your interest, influence and aspiration. What do you hope to achieve in this programme? You should also share how this programme might prepare you for your future career path. If the student is unable to attend the interview on campus, an online interview will be arranged.
