Description
The emphasis of this unique course is on personalised learning and genuine professional development suited to those interested in the arts and entertainment industries. The programme forges a combination of creative and critical skills and knowledge, as well as developing students’ technical expertise. It is designed to create a stimulating and interactive environment to promote individual and collective learning. Students will be taught via a blend of methods including lectures, professional practice modules, conversations with experts, critical reflections, self-directed study and consultations
Assessment is tailored to the module contents and learning objectives predominantly through coursework – performances, essays, creative performance critiques; compositions; contextual studies, aural and musicianship skills, stylistic studies, professional skills such as career skills, and instrumental/vocal teaching skills and conducting classes. They will also develop the craft, perspectives and dispositions of an artist, which will enrich their journey in any field beyond Capital College of the Arts, Management and Technology.

Upon successful completion of the 8-month Foundation Certificate Studies, graduates will qualify for one of the Diploma programmes:

Minimum Entry Requirements
- Minimum age: 16 years old
- Minimum of two ‘N’ Level subject passes: ELMAB3 (English Language), Mathematics, Best 3 other subjects) aggregate score of 15 points or better, excluding CCA Bonus Points; OR
- Higher Nitec or their equivalent; AND
- Minimum academic qualification, or its equivalent;
- Pass an interview.
- Pass an audition or portfolio presentation; from ONE of these tracks:- Music Performance: Solo Audition – a 5 minutes performance by the applicant on their main/principal instrument; OR- Musical Theatre: Solo Audition – a 3-4 minutes performance by the applicant, a song from a musical; OR- Visual Arts: a portfolio of work (drawing, painting, or photography) by the applicant; AND
- Other qualifications which will be considered on a case-by case basis.
