Certificate in Music Foundation

Description

The Certificate in Music Foundation is an intensive 6.25-month program designed to provide aspiring musicians with a comprehensive foundation in music and performing arts. The program, aligned with FHEQ 3,  combines technical training with essential theoretical knowledge, enabling students to develop musicianship, artistry, and stage presence.

Students will engage in a range of activities including music theory, harmonic and rhythmic ear training, and specialized training in their chosen instrument or voice (Principal Study). The learning experience includes a blend of lectures, workshops, and industry seminars that introduce students to the professional music landscape.

Assessment is tailored to the module contents and learning objectives, predominantly through coursework—performances, creative critiques, aural skills assessments, and collaborative projects. The program equips students with the technical and critical skills necessary for further studies or professional pursuits in music.
