Description
The Emerging Technologies and Entrepreneurship course, in collaboration with Rochester Institute of Technology (USA), offers students an in-depth understanding of the principles and attributes of Business 3.0 and Web 3.0. The programme is designed to equip students with the skills they need to navigate the emerging landscape of decentralized networks, blockchain technology, and the digital economy.
The 9 month course that provides students with a strong foundation in emerging technologies and the digital economy. The course covers topics such as blockchain technology, smart contracts, decentralized finance, digital assets, and Web3 protocols. Additionally, the module Circular Economy Entrepreneurship is in collaboration with Rochester Institute of Technology (USA), which gives students an added advantage in learning about the circular economy.
Using a combination of theoretical and practical learning approaches, the course provides students with opportunities to engage in hands-on projects and case studies, as well as simulations and real-world applications of Web3 technologies. Students will be equipped with the necessary knowledge and skills to analyze, design, implement, and evaluate Web3 and decentralized applications and digital assets, and to make informed decisions in a rapidly changing and complex digital environment.
The course also focuses on developing critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, enabling students to apply their knowledge of Emerging Technologies and skills in Entrepreneurship to real-world problems and opportunities. Students will work on projects and assignments that require them to think critically and creatively about how to solve problems in the digital economy, using emerging technologies and decentralized networks. By the end of the course, students will be prepared for success in the digital age, equipped with a strong foundation in emerging technologies and the knowledge to navigate the complexities of the digital economy.
To enhance their learning, students can also take up to 2 complementary electives from the other programmes in the Faculty of Management and Technology.

Minimum Entry Requirements
- Minimum age: 17 years old.
- Minimum of two ‘O’ Level subject passes (not including English Language) or their equivalent; AND
- The student will need to submit a statement of purpose and pass an interview.
- Other qualifications which will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

STATEMENT OF PURPOSE (500–800 WORDS)
The student will need to describe his/her interest, involvement and experience in the business or commerce related disciplines. Experience can include work done with arts organisations or events such as retail, administrative office, film, design, performance, festivals, exhibitions. These can also be events you attended or student projects that you worked on.
INTERVIEW
The student will need to participate in an aptitude test and dialogue in relation to the submitted statement of purpose – What are your motivations for choosing this course? Share your interest, influence and aspiration. What do you hope to achieve in this programme? You should also share how this programme might prepare you for your future career path.
