Alongside this, students will engage in a practical program that simplifies the process of initiating and managing an online venture. They will gain practical exposure to a variety of eCommerce platforms, secure transaction methods, SSL certification, digital shopping carts, and inventory management systems.

The term wraps up with a unique program on Circular Economy Entrepreneurship, which introduces students to the innovative concept of generating value through the reuse and recycling of products, fostering sustainable business practices.

As the program progresses, students will continue to expand their knowledge and skills. They will learn to optimize eCommerce for mobile platforms, design mobile-responsive websites and apps, integrate mobile payment systems, and devise mobile marketing strategies.

Furthermore, students will learn the art of creating compelling product descriptions, blog posts, videos, and social media content that resonates with their target audience. The program also delves into financial management, providing insights into budgeting, cash flow, financial forecasting, and alternative start-up funding. This knowledge will equip students with the financial literacy skills necessary to make informed decisions in their entrepreneurial pursuits.

The program also includes a module on understanding consumer behavior and market trends, empowering students to identify target markets and formulate potent marketing strategies.

The Industry and Career module offers insights into the eCommerce industry and career opportunities in Singapore and the Asian region. This module features guest lectures from industry professionals and visits to local eCommerce businesses.

By the conclusion of the two semesters, students will have a robust understanding of the digital commerce landscape, practical experience with eCommerce platforms and tools, and a strong foundation in business communication, financial literacy, and market research

Description

The Emerging Technologies and Entrepreneurship course, in collaboration with Rochester Institute of Technology (USA), offers students an in-depth understanding of the principles and attributes of Business 3.0 and Web 3.0. The programme is designed to equip students with the skills they need to navigate the emerging landscape of decentralized networks, blockchain technology, and the digital economy. 

The 9 month course that provides students with a strong foundation in emerging technologies and the digital economy. The course covers topics such as blockchain technology, smart contracts, decentralized finance, digital assets, and Web3 protocols. Additionally, the module Circular Economy Entrepreneurship is in collaboration with Rochester Institute of Technology (USA), which gives students an added advantage in learning about the circular economy. 

Using a combination of theoretical and practical learning approaches, the course provides students with opportunities to engage in hands-on projects and case studies, as well as simulations and real-world applications of Web3 technologies. Students will be equipped with the necessary knowledge and skills to analyze, design, implement, and evaluate Web3 and decentralized applications and digital assets, and to make informed decisions in a rapidly changing and complex digital environment. 

The course also focuses on developing critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, enabling students to apply their knowledge of Emerging Technologies and skills in Entrepreneurship to real-world problems and opportunities. Students will work on projects and assignments that require them to think critically and creatively about how to solve problems in the digital economy, using emerging technologies and decentralized networks. By the end of the course, students will be prepared for success in the digital age, equipped with a strong foundation in emerging technologies and the knowledge to navigate the complexities of the digital economy.

To enhance their learning, students can also take up to 2 complementary electives from the other programmes in the Faculty of Management and Technology.

By engaging with a range of core topics such as principles of business, accounting, business communication, technology, marketing and research, students gain insights into the roles, duties and responsibilities of a business administrator.
